BEHIND THE BRAND
WHO AM I ?
Hello! My name is Valeria, I am 30 years old, in my life I have studied languages and economics and when I finished university, I found a job in my sector. However, since I was little I had a concern for the world of fashion. Of Italian descent, I have imbibed from a society passionate about quality sewing, fabrics and prints. All this personal baggage crystallized in a very important place and moment in my life: reaching the quarter century on an island like Formentera. When I reached the maturity of my 25 years, I decided to change my course forever and create something of my own. On my return to Italy, I took a pattern making and sewing course, which allowed me to have the technical knowledge to be able to display my creativity and instinct in the garments. Thus, I began my journey with a trip to India in 2019, where I fell in love with the colors and the precious fabrics that were there, and I chose to create my first capsule of women's clothing. I started with a notebook and a pencil, and I drew my first dresses. Thanks to authentic artisans we were able to bring Wendy Formentera to life.
Why the name "Wendy"?
Wendy is born from a dream, a story that is that of Wendy and the Neverland. I have wanted to put this name to my brand because from a dream I have been able to create a reality, my brand. A bit like Wendy who, telling stories of pirates, fairies and Peter Pan to her brothers, one day really flew to the island of Neverland.
